Peer Support
In 2017, clinical social worker Lynette Nikkel launched the Adventure Therapists in Private Practice group on Facebook. The group held monthly drop-in sessions, and an in-person session at the Association for Experiential Education conference in Montreal. Outdoor therapy providers from all over the world joined these meetings to discuss theory, research, practice, networking, and business. We encourage all those interesting to join groups like these and to build collaborative relationships in the field. We hope to use this platform to continue encouraging those active in the field to support their peers.
